Recruiter InMail Policy Enforcements

Last updated: 1 year ago

At LinkedIn, we don't tolerate inappropriate activities or behavior such as spam, harassment, scams, and misinformation. To ensure members receive quality and appropriate content, InMail messages undergo checks by LinkedIn’s filtering system and your InMail message can be flagged as being potentially inappropriate.

LinkedIn reserves the right to limit your use of our services. LinkedIn reserves the right to restrict, suspend or terminate your account if LinkedIn believes that you may have violated our Recruiter InMail Policy, our LinkedIn Professional Community Policies or are misusing our services.

When we do this, you'll receive the following notification banners if at least one InMail message has been flagged for violating our Recruiter InMail Policy:

  • A warning will be displayed (typically after detection of your first violation). At this time you will still be able to send and reply to InMails without any restrictions.

    Example warnings:

    Warning

You have sent messages that went against our InMail Policy. Additional flagged messages may result in temporary suspension of new InMail sends. Review your most recently flagged message here.

    Restriction

You temporarily cannot send new InMails due to recent messages that went against our InMail Policy. You can see your most recently flagged message here.

  • If subsequent violations are detected, account restrictions will be in place where you’ll be temporarily restricted from sending new InMail messages for 24 hours, 72 hours, or 1 week. Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is used for calculating a day. You will still be able to reply to existing InMail conversations.

If you believe your content has been removed in error, you’ll have the opportunity to ask for a second look. For any questions, please reach out to your LinkedIn sales representative directly or LinkedIn customer support.
