If a provider typically responds within a day of receiving an initial request for proposal from a buyer and/or responds to at least 80% of inquiries, their Service Page will show the note Usually responds within 24 hours and/or x% response rate.
Response time is calculated based on an average of inquiries from the past 180 days. This average is refreshed weekly.
Requests sent through service inquiries (when a buyer contacts you through the Request Proposal button on your Service Page) and provider matching (only available to providers who were previously ProFinder pros) both contribute to the response time. If the provider has three or more requests in the past 180 days, we calculate the average time it takes the provider to respond to the proposal. If the time is 24 hours or less, the response time will be Usually responds within 24 hours.
Response rate is calculated based on an average rate of responses to inquiries from the past 180 days. This average is refreshed weekly.
Requests sent through service inquiries (when a buyer contacts you through the Request Proposal button on your Service Page) and provider matching (only available to providers who were previously ProFinder pros) both contribute to the response rate. We divide the number of inquiries that the provider responds to by the total number of inquiries received in the past 180 days. If the response rate is 80% or higher, the response rate will appear as X% response rate.
Response times and/or response rates are displayed at the top of a provider’s Service Page.
A response time will only be shown if:
- The provider's average response time is less than 24 hours.
- The provider has received three or more requests in the past 180 days.
- The provider’s response rate is higher than 80%.
A response rate will only be shown if the provider’s response rate is higher than 80%.
If the service provider is in a different time zone from the buyer, the provider might take longer to respond, for example if the request is received outside of their working hours.
As a provider, you can improve your response time by replying to new requests for proposals within 24 hours, and you can improve your response rate by replying to all requests that you receive. We also recommend declining unwanted requests for proposals.
