Outlook and Google email and calendar integrations in Recruiter and Talent Hub

Last updated: 8 months ago

LinkedIn Recruiter and LinkedIn Talent Hub support Outlook (Microsoft Office 365) and Google (Google Workspace) for email and calendar integrations.

Important to know

As of March 1, 2023, in LinkedIn Recruiter and LinkedIn Talent Hub, Microsoft integrations only work with cloud deployments. Microsoft doesn't allow hybrid or on-premise deployments to access calendar and mailbox APIs. Each user that authorizes their email or calendar integration must have an Exchange Online deployment.

With email and calendar integrations in Recruiter and Talent Hub, you can:

  • Seamlessly schedule screening interviews: With the calendar integration, you can connect with a work calendar and share your availability with candidates as a part of your InMail messages. The candidate will receive the message and be able to pick a date and time from your calendar that works for them.
  • View email and InMail communication in one place: With the email syncing integration (when you authorize), you can connect a work inbox and view email and InMail conversations with candidates, directly on the candidate’s profile. When you sync your InMail and email together, you get a centralized view of your candidate conversations, which gives you greater context on candidates, such as whether they are likely to be qualified or interested in the role. You can choose to share candidate email history with peers on your dashboard to streamline collaboration. This visibility can reduce instances of multiple recruiters reaching out to the same candidate and improve the candidate experience.

In Talent Hub with the calendar integration, you can schedule candidate interviews with a panel of interviewers based on their availability.

Here's a tip

Each integration requests the lowest level of permission needed in order to provide the above experience to our users. Individual users can select which application they want to authorize while contract administrators can choose to turn the integrations on or off.

You’ll need to do the following actions in sequence to enable the email and calendar integrations. If you have more than one contract, you need to repeat the steps for each contract.

Step 1: As an IT Admin, enable LinkedIn Recruiter permissions in Microsoft O365 or Google Workspace

Step 2: As a LinkedIn Recruiter Admin, select an email and calendar provider

Step 3: As a LinkedIn Recruiter user, authorize your email and calendar
