Campaign creation in Quick Mode versus Advanced Mode

In Campaign Manager, you can create a campaign using either Quick Mode or Advanced Mode.

  • Quick Mode - Allows you to quickly create a campaign with commonly used settings. We recommend Quick Mode for new advertisers. 

  • Advanced Mode - Allows you to create a campaign with all campaign settings available.

Here's a tip

If you switch from Advanced Mode to Quick Mode when you're building your campaign, the campaign settings will reset. You’ll need to restart creating your campaign, which includes selecting a campaign group.

You can switch from Quick Mode to Advanced Mode and any campaign settings already selected will be saved.

Objective

  • Quick Mode - Select from either brand awareness or website visits as your campaign objective. 

  • Advanced Mode - Select from all objectives: 

    • Brand awareness
    • Website visits
    • Engagement 
    • Video views 
    • Messaging
    • Lead generation 
    • Talent leads 
    • Website conversions 
    • Job applicants

Targeting

  • Quick Mode - Create a new audience using profile-based targeting or select from an existing audience using your Saved Audiences or pre-populated LinkedIn audiences.

  • Advanced Mode - In addition to the options available in Quick Mode, you can also use Matched Audiences which allows you to target using a list upload, predictive audiences, retargeting, or third-party audiences.

Ad format

  • Quick Mode - Select from either single image ads or video ads as your ad format.

  • Advanced Mode - Depending on your campaign objective, you can select from all ad formats: 

    • Single image ad
    • Video ad
    • Click-to-message ad
    • Carousel image ad 
    • Event ad 
    • Document ad 
    • Single job ad 
    • Message ad 
    • Conversation ad 
    • Text ad 
    • Spotlight ad 
    • Follower ad 
    • Jobs ad

Placement

  • Quick Mode - Enable or disable additional placement of your ads through the LinkedIn Audience Network. 

  • Advanced Mode - In addition to the options available in Quick Mode, you can edit advanced settings for the LinkedIn Audience Network such as blocking publisher categories based on IAB definitions or by uploading a block list of specific websites or apps.

Budget

  • Quick Mode - Select from a daily budget or lifetime budget for your campaign. 

  • Advanced Mode - Select from a daily budget, lifetime budget, or daily and lifetime budget for your campaign.

Bidding strategy

  • Quick Mode - Only the maximum delivery bidding strategy is available.

  • Advanced Mode - Select from additional bidding strategies such as cost cap and manual. 

Conversion tracking

  • Quick Mode - Conversion tracking can’t be added to a campaign in Quick Mode. 

  • Advanced Mode - Conversion tracking can be added during the campaign creation process.
