Make account matching corrections in bulk in LinkedIn Sales Insights

Last updated: 2 years ago

Sales Insights provides the following options using which you can make CRM match corrections:

  • The Match Corrections Table option

  • The Bulk Upload option

The Bulk Upload option is a fast way to correct large numbers of matches with a single file upload. Through this feature, you can upload lists of up to 10,000 accounts for correction. If you want to make corrections for more than 10,000 accounts, then you will need to break this up into files of 10,000 each to upload individually.

Important to know

Account match corrections made in Sales Insights will be reflected in Sales Navigator, and vice versa. But, if you've connected the CRM directly to Sales Insights, and you make match corrections between your connected CRM and LinkedIn company records, the corrections won’t apply to your Sales Navigator CRM.

To make account matching corrections in bulk:

  1. Sign in to Sales Insights.

  2. Click Sources.

  3. Click the Synced CRM tab.

  4. Click Download match results.

  5. Create a CSV file on your system and ensure that the following fields are created.

    • CRM ID
    • LinkedIn Company ID or LinkedIn Company URL (Sales Insights will match the CRM ID to the provided value)
    • Match Behavior

Here is an example of the values that you could enter for these fields:

    Column Name Description Sample Value
CRM ID This is the ID of the account in your CRM and is available in the exported match report. This ID is provided by the CRM.

    0015e00000vpvalAAA

LinkedIn Company ID or URL This can be the ID of the company on LinkedIn or the LinkedIn URL of the company you would like to match to.

    123456

    or

    https://www.linkedin.com/company/linkedin

Match Behavior Indicates how you would like the match handled. Leave this field blank to create a new match or provide the value unmatch if you would like to remove an existing match.

    Empty

    or

    Unmatch

  6. To match a company, you must provide the CRM ID and the LinkedIn Company ID or the LinkedIn Company Page URL.

For example, if you provide the CRM ID, and the LinkedIn Company ID but leave the Match Behavior column blank, and upload the CSV file, then Sales Insights will match the CRM ID with the provided LinkedIn Company ID. But if the CRM ID is already matched with another company, then the match is overwritten.

  7. To unmatch a company, you must provide the CRM ID, LinkedIn Company ID OR LinkedIn Company Page URL and specify unmatch in the Match Behavior column.

When the status of the updates changes from Pending to Complete, this indicates that your match results and reports have been updated. The match report will reflect the updated Match Confidence Score in 24-48 hours.
