In LinkedIn Sales Insights, you can match your imported accounts with companies that have LinkedIn Company Profile in one of the following ways:
-
Account matching through CRM Mapping in Sales Navigator (recommended)
If you are connecting Sales Insights to your CRM through Sales Navigator, you can use the CRM Mapping in Sales Navigator for a more flexible and accurate account matching experience with the ability to customize match fields and even force a match. Once you make changes to CRM Mapping in Sales Navigator, Sales Insights will ingest data from your CRM and match accounts accordingly.
-
Account matching with Sales Insights standalone
If you are connecting to your CRM directly with Sales Insights, you can import accounts to Sales Insights from your CRM or by uploading a CSV file. LinkedIn Sales Insights matches your imported accounts with companies that have LinkedIn Company Profiles. Similar to Sales Navigator, Sales Insights reviews account fields for each CSV or CRM record, and uses a score-based model to determine whether a match should be made with the corresponding profile.
The fields include:
- Company name: The most important input variable
- Website URL: The second most important input variable
- Address: Company street, city, and country
- Stock symbol
If available, the following can also be used to manually force a correct match:
- LinkedIn Company ID
- LinkedIn Company Page URL
- Sales Navigator URL
Here's a tip
Including more fields and keeping them up to date will improve your match results. In particular, ensure the two most critical fields - Company Name and Website URL, are high quality and formatted correctly for best matches.
Sales Insights doesn’t need an exact match of any record field entries, as it looks for similarities, partial matches, and uses advanced data cleaning to evaluate matches. However, matching is a probabilistic model that relies on the quality of the account fields provided. The more accurate your data is, particularly for Company name and Website URL, the better your matches will be.
After importing and matching your accounts, you will be provided two outputs to help you understand your match results:
- Match rate: The number of unique records where at least 1 account field provided matches a company with a Company Profile on LinkedIn, divided by the total number of unique records imported.
- Match confidence scores: The level of confidence in the matches based on the account fields provided, as indicated by a scoring system from 1 to 5:
- 5 = 80-100% confidence
- 4 = 60-80% confidence
- 3 = 40-60% confidence
- 2 = 20-40% confidence
- 1 = 0-20% confidence
Your downloadable match results file will provide a match confidence score for each account.
