In addition to basic ad information, for certain ads the LinkedIn Ad Library shows additional information about ad targeting, impressions, the dates an ad ran, and details about an ad’s restriction.
Targeting parameters
For ads targeted to the European Union, the LinkedIn Ad Library shows the top targeting parameters selected by the advertiser when targeting their ad. The targeting parameters shown are based on how often they’re used for ad campaigns on LinkedIn. For each targeting parameter shown, the Ad Library displays whether the advertiser used that parameter for inclusion targeting, exclusion targeting, or both inclusion and exclusion targeting. The possible targeting parameters shown in the Ad Library are:
- Language Targeting - Includes targeting based on profile language.
- Job Targeting - Includes targeting based on job function, job seniority, job title, member skills, or years of experience.
- Education Targeting - Includes targeting based on degrees, fields of study, or school.
- Company Targeting - Includes targeting based on company category, company size, company revenue, company name, company industry, company connections, company growth rate, or company followers.
- Location Targeting - Includes targeting based on permanent or recent location.
- Audience Targeting - Includes targeting based on matched audiences.
- Demographic Targeting - Includes targeting based on inferred age or gender. Learn more.
- Member Interests and Traits Targeting - Includes targeting based on member groups, interests, or traits (for example, members who are job seekers). Learn more.
For each ad, the Ad Library shows up to three targeting parameters applied by the advertiser. In some cases, an advertiser may apply more than three targeting parameters to their campaign.
Estimated impressions
For ads targeted to the European Union, the LinkedIn Ad Library also provides insights into ad performance, including the estimated total impressions of the ad and impression breakdown by country.
The metrics for impressions by country are rounded to the nearest percent. In cases where the percentage falls between 0 and 1, the Ad Library displays the percentage as <1%.
You may occasionally observe impressions delivered in countries outside those targeted. This can be attributed to various factors. For example, advertisers may set up targeting based on the location indicated in members' profiles. However, during delivery, members might be traveling to or present in a different location or their profile location might be out of date. Consequently, in some cases impressions can register in geographies outside those targeted.
