This release notes article elaborates on all features and enhancements that are released to at least a portion of our users in LinkedIn Sales Navigator in the time frame of July 2023 to September 2023.
Sales Navigator user updates
Following changes and enhancements have been introduced to the Search feature in Sales Navigator:
-
Keywords to filters mapping - While searching for a lead, as you enter keywords, Sales Navigator will suggest filter combinations for you to use based on the keywords you have entered. These filter combinations are limited to queries that match the Current job title, Geography, Current company and School filters.
Important to know
This is applicable only to lead search. -
Suggested filters - As you search for a lead or an account, Sales Navigator will suggest additional filters that you can specify to refine your lead and account search results.
The suggestions are limited to the following filters:
- Lead search – Current company, Geography, Seniority level and Function
- Account search – Headquarters location, Industry, and Company headcount.
-
Changes to Current company and Past company filters for an account list – You can now filter search results by an account list within the Current company filter or the Past company filter. With this enhancement, you can now find new leads who once worked at your customer company.
-
Changes to Seniority level filter – The Seniority level filter has been updated to include the following new datasets:
- Experienced manager
- Entry-level manager
- Strategic
Also, the Partner dataset is no longer a separate entity, but is contained within the Owner seniority level dataset.
-
Highlights on lead and account results – In your search results, recent activity is highlighted for each lead and account. For example, with these highlights, you can quickly tell which lead or account has mutual connections, is a past customer, or recently posted content on LinkedIn. These highlights help you to quickly identify conversation starters or can help you quickly prioritize leads or accounts that you want to engage with.
-
Deprecating Posted Content filter in Lead Search – The Posted Content filter in Lead search is no longer available. We recommend that you use the Posted on LinkedIn filter to find leads who are active on the platform and are likely to interact with you.
Sales Navigator now allows you to filter alerts on your homepage by an account list or a lead list. This feature allows you to quickly identify the latest alerts in your account and lead lists in a single click. This saves you time in browsing all available alerts and determining which alert is most crucial to you at the moment.

- Insights added to Lead Page and Lead Panel - When you visit a Lead Page or Lead Panel throughout Sales Navigator, you can see spotlights (insights) about the lead at the top of the page. These spotlights, like recently changed job and past colleagues, help you with outreach.
- New sections on the Lead Page and Lead Panel - You can view languages spoken by a lead on the Lead Page and in the Lead Panel. We're also adding skills, education, and a chronological list of activities to the Lead Panel for quicker access throughout Sales Navigator.
- Relationship Explorer Personas redesign - You can easily build out personas in Relationship Explorer, by viewing Persona filters directly from the same screen you find leads in while you search, and editing if you need to refine or broaden the results.
- Optimizing Common Searches - We've focused in on the most common/effective Search links by removing some unused links in the header of the Account page and adding quick search links for Personas.

Seat Management is changing to People Management. We are gradually making this experience available, and you might not have access to it at this time. When you sign in to Sales Navigator and click the Admin option, if you see the People tab in the subsequent screen, then you have access to the People Management experience.
People Management includes the same functionality and capability that Seat Management provided you with. In the event that you cannot find the options you need or are unable to complete your intended tasks using People Management, contact us for assistance.
Important to know
System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM) is a user management automation tool that centralizes identity, keeping user data in sync between a company’s identity provider (such as OneLogin, Okta, or Microsoft Azure AD) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. This keeps user attributes synchronized, and enables you to create user profiles, assign and remove user licenses, and provision groups and group memberships automatically within Sales Navigator. With SCIM, you can ensure:
- Clean, up-to-date user data in LinkedIn Sales Navigator - SCIM keeps user attributes synchronized between Okta, OneLogin, or Microsoft Azure AD and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Any learner data changes made within an organization’s identity provider (IdP) will be automatically reflected in Sales Navigator in less than one hour.
- Significantly reduce time and effort spent on user management - You can add/remove/manage users at scale, which reduces the time and effort it takes to keep their users up to date.
- Centralized Application Management - Customers already have multiple vendor applications connected via SCIM, and their expectation is to manage LinkedIn solutions centrally in the same way.
- Boost in license utilization - through automated assignments and revocation to free up licenses not in use.
