Troubleshoot notification issues

If you’re experiencing notification issues, follow this troubleshooting procedure to reset your notification settings.

Here are some common notification issues that you might experience:

  • You’re not receiving notifications even though your notification settings are turned on.
  • You’re not getting notified when someone comments on your posts or reacts to them.

Important to know

To resolve notification issues, you must reset notification settings related to Updates from your network and Comments and reactions and any sub-settings associated with these notification categories and notification delivery method. Push notifications won’t work correctly unless the In-app notifications are also turned On.

To reset your notification settings:

  1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

  2. Click Settings & Privacy.

  3. Click Notifications on the left pane.

  4. Under Notifications you receive:

    Click Connecting with others, then click on Updates from your network, and do the following:

    • If the notification is currently On: Switch the toggle to Off, and then switch it back to On.
    • If the notification is currently Off: Switch the toggle to On, and then switch it back to Off.

    Click Posting and commenting, then click on Comments and reactions, and do the following:

    • If the notification is currently On: Switch the toggle to Off, and then switch it back to On.
    • If the notification is currently Off: Switch the toggle to On, and then switch it back to Off.


Once you update the settings, new notifications should start to appear within 48-72 hours.
