The Skills tab of the LinkedIn Talent Insights Talent Pool Report helps you to identify the top skills that are most relevant and trending for your talent pool. There are over 35,000 standardized skills in LinkedIn's skills taxonomy.
To access the online report, sign into LinkedIn Talent Insights and create a new Talent Pool Report or select an existing report from the Continue where you left off section in the homepage.
The Skills tab provides the following insights:
What are the most common skills among this talent? - This section displays the most common skills within your talent pool, the percentage of professionals with each skill, the gender distribution, and the number of your employees on LinkedIn with each skill.
What are the fastest growing skills among this talent? - This section displays the skills that are fastest growing within your talent pool, the growth rate of each skill over the last one year, the number of professionals with each skill, and the number of your employees on LinkedIn with these skills.
Talent Insights reflects explicit and implicit skills based on member profiles. New skills are frequently added to our standardized list, making them searchable in Talent Insights.

Explicit: Skills that members list within the Skills section of their member profiles.

Implicit: Through the application of natural-language processing technology, we’re able to read and extract skills from other parts of the member’s profile including the job title, job descriptions, and profile summary.
Note: Member endorsements of skills are not included in Talent Insights.
You can view the individual profiles who possess each skill.
To view the individual profiles:

Click the number in the Professionals column for any listed skill.

In the window that opens on the right, click See profile next to the member’s profile name to view the LinkedIn profile.
- Note: You can use the filters on the left rail to filter the profiles by Companies, Locations, or Function.
You can sort the gender insights for a selected skill.
To sort the gender insights:
Click the Gender dropdown list and select from the following options:

Female: High to Low – Lists the percentage of female employees with a particular skill from highest to lowest.

Male: High to Low – Lists the percentage of male employees with a particular skill from highest to lowest.

Gender Gap: Least to most – Lists the skills list in the increasing order of gender gap.

Gender: Show all genders – Displays the percentage of both male and female employees for each skill.
