Jobs data in Talent Insights

Last updated: 3 months ago
Jobs data is available in the Location, Skills, and Titles tabs of the LinkedIn Talent Insights Company Report and Talent Pool Report. The data includes both jobs posted directly on LinkedIn via LinkedIn Jobs as well as jobs ingested from other sources, including company websites, applicant tracking systems, job boards, aggregators, and job feeds. LinkedIn has developed advanced algorithms to identify and remove duplicate job posts from ingested sources which ensures the information provided reflects the current state of the job market.

You can view all active job posts based on your search criteria in the Company Report. You can use job post data to understand where your competitors are investing such as which skills, titles or new locations they are hiring in.

Here's a tip

Jobs data within Talent Insights reflects the number of current full-time open job posts that match the search criteria. LinkedIn standardizes job posts by extracting the title, location, employer, employment type, description, and industry information.

Understanding Location Filters in Job Searches

The location filters between LinkedIn.com and LinkedIn Talent Insights (LTI) function differently, which is important to understand when searching for job postings.

LinkedIn.com enhances your search by automatically including a 40 kilometer radius around the specified location. This means if you enter "West Palm Beach, Florida, United States", you will also see job postings from nearby areas such as Juno Beach, Florida. However, LinkedIn Talent Insights does not apply this additional radius filter. LTI only shows results based on the exact location provided in the search criteria.

Example: An employer posts a full-time role in Juno Beach, Florida. If the employer searches for full-time roles in "West Palm Beach, Florida, United States" on LinkedIn.com, the job posting will appear as expected because of the automatic radius filter. Using the same employer example, if they check their LTI account with the location set to "West Palm Beach, Florida, United States", no roles will show up because LTI requires the exact location, "Juno Beach, Florida, United States", to display the job.
