Reply to messages in the Recruiter Inbox

When you receive a message from a candidate, LinkedIn sends notifications to your primary email address, your LinkedIn Recruiter Inbox on desktop, and in the LinkedIn Recruiter mobile app. You can respond to these messages through your email provider or through your Recruiter account on desktop or mobile.

Note: To see how you receive notifications, check your email preferences in the Communications tab in Privacy & Settings

To reply to a message through your Recruiter Inbox:
  1. Move your cursor over Messages icon at the top of your Recruiter homepage and click View all messages.

  2. Select the message from the list on the left rail.
  3. Draft your message and click Send.
Note: If the candidate has not yet accepted your initial InMail message, you won’t have the ability to continue the conversation on the existing thread.
To reply to a message received through your email provider, use that provider’s reply option. This will send a response to the candidate’s email address and their LinkedIn.com account.
