Supported Boolean modifiers in Talent Insights keyword search

Last updated: 2 years ago

You can use the following Boolean modifiers in the Keyword field to refine your Talent Insights Talent Pool or Company Report:

Boolean Modifier  Description Example
NOT Type the word NOT (capital letters) immediately before a search term to exclude it from your search results. You must include a search term before the word NOT. This typically limits your search results. programmer NOT manager
OR Type the word OR (capital letters) to see results that include one or more items in a list. This typically broadens your search results. sales OR marketing OR advertising
AND Type the word AND (capital letters) to see results that include all items in a list. This typically limits your search results.  account AND finance AND CPA
Parenthetical You can use parentheses to refine your search with multiple terms. (manager OR executive) AND finance
Quoted You can also quotation marks to search for an exact phrase. "product manager"

Keep in mind:

  • The "+" and "-" operators are not officially supported by LinkedIn. Using AND in place of "+" and NOT in place of "-" makes a query easier to read and guarantees that we'll handle the search correctly.

  • LinkedIn search doesn't support wildcard "*" searches.

  • There is a 40-word limit to keyword searches.
