You may notice discrepancies between data you see on Talent Insights and your internal data. There are several possible explanations, based on the characteristics of the LinkedIn data set, which may account for the differences you see.
-
If LinkedIn member counts are lower than your internal employee counts, it may be because some of your employees don’t have LinkedIn profiles.
-
If LinkedIn member counts are significantly higher than your internal employee counts, LinkedIn members may be inaccurately representing their employment at your organization (i.e. contractors, past employees).
-
If you see a discrepancy in a specific attribute (e.g. the number of employees with certain skills or titles) between Talent Insights data and your internal data, it’s likely because some of your employees’ LinkedIn profiles are incomplete or not up to date.
To address these occasional discrepancies, LinkedIn works with members and their employers to ensure that employment and profile details are up to date and verified.
