Let recruiters know you’re Open to Work
You can let recruiters and your network on LinkedIn know you’re open to new job opportunities with the #OpenToWork feature.
If you’re looking for a job, you can let recruiters and your network on LinkedIn know you’re open to new job opportunities. If you specify the types of job opportunities that you’re interested in and your preferred location, we’ll help your profile show up in search results when recruiters look for suitable job candidates.
With #OpenToWork you have control of who is able to see that you are ready to take on a new opportunity. You can choose who sees you’re open:
- All LinkedIn Members: This also includes recruiters and people at your current company. It also adds the #OpenToWork photo frame.
- Recruiters only: People using LinkedIn Recruiter only. To protect your privacy, we take steps to prevent LinkedIn Recruiter users who work at your current company from seeing your shared career interests, but we can’t guarantee complete privacy.
Important to know
To protect your privacy, we take steps to prevent LinkedIn Recruiter users who work at your company from seeing your shared career interests. We take the current company on your LinkedIn profile marked as I am currently working here to know who to hide your Open to Work status from, however, we can’t guarantee complete privacy.
To enable the #OpenToWork feature:

Click the
Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. -
Click View profile.

Click the Open to button.

Click Finding a new job.

Provide the requested information in the pop-up window that appears.
- You can choose whether all LinkedIn members or only recruiters can see that you’re open to job opportunities. If you choose to share with all LinkedIn members, we’ll add an #OpenToWork photo frame to your profile photo.

Click Add to profile.
You can also click Get started from the Show recruiters you’re open to work box near the top of your LinkedIn Profile to access this feature.

Some members may see Choose what you need in your next job instead of Open to Opportunities.
You can edit or remove the #OpenToWork feature from your LinkedIn profile at any time:

Click the
Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. -
Click View profile.

Edit icon from the Open to Work box (at the top of your profile). -
Follow the prompts to edit the information you previously provided.

Click Save.
Click Delete from profile to disable the feature. You can re-enable it at any time, but your previous preferences won’t be saved.

Edit the information you previously provided, and tap Save.

Important to know
If we notice that you stop responding to InMails from recruiters, we'll email you to confirm that you're still open to work. If we don't receive confirmation, we'll automatically remove the #OpenToWork feature from your profile until you manually enable it again.
