You can claim a Basic Job you find on LinkedIn if you work for the company hiring for the job. When you claim a Basic Job, it converts to a free job post that you can manage through LinkedIn.
Important to know
This applies only to jobs posted with a personal member account and not through Recruiter or Recruiter Lite.
To claim a Basic Job:
-
Click the job post to open the job details page.
-
Click the Claim for free button at the top of the page.
-
In the pop-up window that appears, select where you’d like to receive job applications from the dropdown menu.
- On LinkedIn (with email notifications) - Enter your company email address.
- External website - Enter the external website where you wish to track applicants.
-
Click Save.
-
Verify that you work for the company linked to the job post and click Claim Job.
Important to know
If you don’t have an email address with the company domain associated with your LinkedIn account, you may be prompted to add and verify your company email address. -
Once claimed, you’ll see a Manage job post button on the job details page.
After you claim your job, you can promote it for greater visibility.
Here are some things to keep in mind when claiming a basic job:
- In some cases, we may require certain types of jobs to be promoted on LinkedIn. Jobs that require promotion may include jobs that are reposted within a certain time period, jobs by companies with generic names (such as “Confidential Company”), or jobs from search and staffing companies.
- Only job posts less than 30 days old are eligible to be claimed.
- You must be employed with your organization for at least 3 months to claim jobs.
- You can only post one free job at a time, so if you already have an open job post or you need to claim more than one job, you’ll need to promote the remaining job posts.
- You can’t claim a job that’s already been claimed by another company employee.
- Once you claim a job, it may be selected to undergo our jobs review process as part of our commitment to professionalism and integrity.
- Once a job has been claimed, the applicant collection method must remain the same (via external URL). If the collection method is changed to using an email address instead, the posting is considered manual and the same job will be ingested again. This will create a duplicate post.
- Once you claim a job, it can't be unclaimed.
- Job ingested from an ATS or Zip Recruiter cannot be claimed.
