When writing articles on LinkedIn, you can use images, videos, and other rich media like Instagram images and tweets in the body of your article (inserting tables isn’t currently possible).
To add or remove a cover image:

Click Upload from computer above the Title of the article, to add a cover image.

Create a design: Click Create a design above the Title of the article to design a cover image using Microsoft Designer. From the Designer pop-up window , you can:
- Try a prompt: Select an image on the right to generate similar designs and click Generate.
- Add image: Click Add media to upload your images from your device, media to generate designs with those images.
- Generate image: Click Generate image to create realistic images and art from a text description.
- Start with a blank design: Click Start with a blank design and follow prompts to customize your own design by adding templates, rich media elements, text, and Brand kits.
Move your mouse over the image and click
Remove cover icon to delete the cover image. - Try a prompt: Select an image on the right to generate similar designs and click Generate.
To add rich media to your article:

From the tool bar next to your name at the top of the article, you can:
- Add Image: Click
Image icon to upload an image. - Add Links : Click
Links to paste the rich media content’s URL (For example, Tweets or Instagram images) into the Link field. - Add Snippet: Click
Code to add highlighted snippet into the article. - Embed content: Click the
Embed icon to embed content within the article. From here, you can copy paste respective link into the widget to embed a LinkedIn post, member profile, or a LinkedIn Page.
- Add Image: Click
Notes:
- The supported file types are JPEG, GIF, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, WEBP, BMP, and TIFF.
- GIFs must be smaller than 400 frames.
- The optimal image size for the cover photo is 1920 (w) x 1080 (h) pixels.
- Images that aren’t your own should include a reference to the source of the image. The requirements for using a Creative Commons image vary depending on the image owner. Members must ensure that they follow the specified conditions.
- We support video sharing platforms like YouTube, SlideShare, TED, Getty, Vimeo, Vine, Lifestream, and more.
- Make sure that you're including the URL (https://...) and not the embed code (< blockquote class="instagram-media"...). The URL can be found in the navigation bar at the top of your browser.
- To embed an Instagram photo, open the individual photo and copy the URL in the navigation bar.
