Here’s a list of frequently asked questions for Basic Jobs on LinkedIn.
Basic Jobs are job posts gathered by LinkedIn. They create a comprehensive job-seeking experience for LinkedIn members. They are visible to candidates actively conducting job searches on LinkedIn or viewing a company’s LinkedIn Page.
Basic Jobs are jobs that are ingested from partner applicant tracking systems (ATS), third-party partner job boards and/or directly from an individual customer companies' career sites.
Basic Jobs differ from LinkedIn Job Slots in the following ways:
- Job Slots have greater visibility across LinkedIn, promoted in job searches and distributed across the platform via targeted recommendations in the LinkedIn feed, Jobs tab, and Notifications.
- Basic Jobs are jobs ingested via ATSs that only appear in the Jobs tab of the employers’ company Page and the central Jobs search tab. Basic Jobs don’t offer access to premium features like the Job Analytics Report.
For customers who purchased Job Slots, LinkedIn offers Job Wrapping, which copies all jobs published to your career site or jobs’ source and allows job posters to prioritize specific jobs in Job Slots. It requires minimal technical effort and is based on the same technology supporting millions of Basic Jobs. Any jobs not placed into a Job Slot appear as Basic Jobs on LinkedIn and on your company’s Page.
There are several reasons why a Basic Job may not appear on LinkedIn:
- LinkedIn Premium Job Post: The job is already posted as a paid job by the customer on their company Page.
- Missing or Invalid fields: Jobs will not post if mandatory fields are blank or have invalid information. Please refer to the XML requirements for more information.
- Employer opt-out: Employer has opted out of job ingestion from any third-party site.
- Spam Jobs: Jobs posted on LinkedIn may be selected to undergo our jobs review process and must meet our guidelines as part of our commitment to professionalism and integrity. If jobs do not meet the guidelines, they may be marked as spam.
- In some cases, we may require certain types of jobs to be promoted on LinkedIn. Jobs that require promotion may include jobs that are reposted within a certain time period, jobs by companies with generic names (such as “Confidential Company”) or jobs from search and staffing companies.
You can claim an ingested job if you work for the company hiring for the job. Once you claim the listing, you can edit and manage it through LinkedIn as a free job or promote it for greater visibility.
