You can discover a live video stream on the events home page, from your homepage feed, or through LinkedIn notifications:
-
A red Live badge on the upper left of a video indicates that it’s streaming in real time.
-
From the background photo section of a broadcaster who is streaming.
-
For a member or Page going live, a notification will alert a subset of members who follow the member or Page if they have their notifications turned on.
-
Navigate to the Notifications settings page.
-
Under How you get your notifications, select On LinkedIn to update.
-
Click Network and switch the toggle On or Off next to Live video starting.
-
You can react at different points throughout a live stream. You can also deselect your reaction to remove it.
-
You can post multiple comments during a live stream. Any links added in comments will be plain text and not clickable. You can also like comments from other viewers by clicking the Like icon in the upper right corner of the comment.
-
Learn more about commenting on Events and replying to Event comments.
-
You can minimize the stream without exiting the event to network: check the profiles and content of the organizer, speakers or other viewers, follow, connect or reach out via LinkedIn Messaging.
If closed captioning is available on the stream you’re watching, you’ll see a CC button in the lower right of the player. Closed captioning may be available from pass-through closed captioning or from auto captions (English only). If both are available for a stream, the player will only display the auto captions. You can click on the CC button to turn on or off closed captioning. Captions are always shown at the bottom of the screen.
Once a stream is complete, it will remain on the feed of your LinkedIn Page or profile as a video that was ‘Previously recorded live’. The recording cannot be downloaded from LinkedIn, but some third-party broadcasting tools may allow you to download the recording.
