Privately message Event attendees

Last updated: 2 months ago

If you’re attending a LinkedIn Event, you can privately message some of the other attendees to have one-on-one conversations even if you aren’t connected to them.

Here are some situations for you to use private messaging:
  • If the message sender is already connected to the attendee, they’ll be redirected to a private messaging window.
  • If the message sender isn’t connected to the attendee, they may be able to send them a message request.

  • Attendees will receive a notification if they’ve been sent a message request, and they can decide to either accept or privately decline.
  • If an attendee declines a message request, the sender won’t be notified.
To privately message another attendee:
  1. Access your Events homepage.
  2. Select the applicable event from the list.
  3. To view the attendees list, click on the names of attendees (number) above Share button.

    • You’ll be redirected to a page listing all the attendees.
    • You can use the tabs at the top of the page to filter the attendee list.
  4. Click the Message next to an attendee’s name.
    • You’ll be redirected to a messaging window.
    • If you see Connect or Follow next to the attendee's name, you are unable to send a message request via the event.
Note: Currently, you can’t send private messages to a group of attendees (two or more). However, if you need to communicate with all attendees, you can comment on the Organizer’s event post in the LinkedIn feed.
