Make account matching corrections in LinkedIn Sales Insights

Last updated: 2 years ago

Sales Insights provides the following options using which you can make CRM match corrections:

  • The Match Corrections Table option
  • The Bulk Upload option

Important to know

Account match corrections made in Sales Insights will be reflected in Sales Navigator, and vice versa. But, if you've connected CRM directly to Sales Insights, and make match corrections between your connected CRM and LinkedIn company records, the corrections won’t apply to your Sales Navigator CRM.

To make account matching corrections using the match corrections table:

  1. Sign in to LinkedIn Sales Insights.

  2. Click Sources.

  3. Click the Synced CRM tab.

  4. In the CRM Integration dialog, select the Matching tab, and choose Download match report.

Alternatively, you can download your CRM match results to use as a starter file. If your CRM is larger than 10,000 accounts, you will need to break this up into files of 10,000 each to upload individually.

    Here's a tip

Although downloading CRM Match Results may be faster, you could also create a list of CRM accounts to correct by exporting a report from your CRM for a segment or territory. Be sure to include CRM IDs in the list.

  5. Upload the list of CRM IDs for up to 10,000 accounts each to start correcting matches.

You may want to upload a set of accounts for a specific segment or territory.

  6.  After the file uploads, click the list name, or Make corrections, to start reviewing and editing your matched accounts.

    Important to know

For accounts that were recently added to your CRM, it may take up to 24 hours for the matching process to complete.

When the matching process is complete, you'll see the uploaded CRM accounts along with the matched LinkedIn Company Profile. You can filter the data by match confidence score to narrow your search results.

  7. To improve you match results, you can use one of the following options:

    • Confirm a match as 100% correct: This not only improves model matching, but also indicates to your team that you (or someone else on the team) as manually reviewed and confirmed this match.
    • Correct a wrong match by clicking Edit: Select the correct account in the Suggested Results, or use the search typeahead to find the correct account. This is the same typeahead used by LinkedIn.com.
    • Remove a match: If the company doesn't exist on LinkedIn.com. This prevents you from exporting data for this company when turning on CRM export.

After taking any of these actions, the account’s Match Confidence status is displayed as Pending for 24-48 hours. When the status changes from Pending to Confirmed, this indicates that your match results and reports have been updated.

  8. You can download the matched results file again to verify that the changes have been updated.
