Create targeting rules for your automated job postings in Recruiter

Last updated: 3 weeks ago

You can enhance your recruitment strategy by setting targeted rules that automatically apply specific job titles, skills, job functions, and types of employment to your job postings in Recruiter. These rules use trigger keywords to ensure that your vacancies reach the most relevant candidates.

To create targeting rules for your automated job postings:

  1. Hover over your profile picture in the upper right-hand corner and click Product settings.

  2. Under Job Promotion Settings, click Job targeting.

  3. Click the  Create rule button. In the pop-up dialog titled Create rule based on ATS job title, you will be prompted to specify the rule trigger.

  4. Enter the job title in the Type or select a job title field.

  5. Select one of the following:

    • Exact match: Identifies job titles that match the specified title exactly, with no variations in wording or order.
    • Partial match: Recognizes job titles that contain some elements of the specified title, allowing for variations in wording and order.
  6. After defining the trigger, choose the Actions to be taken:

    • Apply a LinkedIn-matched job title: Matches the ATS job title with LinkedIn's recognized titles.
    • Set an employment type: Specify employment types like full-time or part-time.
    • Add skills (up to 10): Include relevant skills for the job.
    • Add a job function (up to 3): Indicate up to three job functions related to the job title.
  7. After setting up the trigger and actions, click the Save button at the bottom of the dialog to finalize the rule.

Important to know

Once the mapping is set up, it will apply to all future automated job postings that match the rule.
