To ensure a safe and trusted experience on Linkedin, our Professional Community Policies clearly identify what is permitted on LinkedIn and we also provide members with additional controls to protect themselves if desired.
One of such controls members can use to protect themselves is to block other members. Generally, blocking prevents further interaction and visibility between you and the other party on LinkedIn. However, you could be attending and speaking in the same Audio Event with people you’ve blocked or have blocked you because an Audio Event is public and live.
To illustrate how blocking works in a Live Audio Event, consider the scenarios below:
Blocking Scenarios in Audio Events
-
You won't be able to join an Audio Event if:
- you've blocked the host or any of the designated speakers.
- you were blocked by the host or any of the designated speakers prior to the event.
-
You won't be able to see the profile picture or name of an audience member if:
- you've blocked or been blocked by the audience member. However, you can still hear them speak.
-
Your profile and name won't be seen by anyone you've blocked. However, you can still be heard.
-
You can be invited as a designated speaker even if there is a blocking relationship between you and another designated speaker. You won't be able to see the speaker's profile information, but you can still hear them.
-
If you block someone during an event, it'll take effect in future events but not the one in progress. Please consider leaving the current event if you no longer wish to interact with the member you blocked during that event.
