Job search tips from an HR pro
The hiring process and the people behind it can seem like a mystery to many job seekers, but Zenefits’ Chief People Office Tracy Cote helped demystify that world in the most recent edition of #GetHired. While the pandemic has forced companies to make the hiring process virtual, the foundational elements of job seeking haven't changed. She suggests job seekers:
• Make their resumes succinct and pop
• Engage on social media to get noticed
• Send recruiters messages that are useful and relevant
• Maintain their confidence

Great tips for getting noticed Tracy. I would add: 1. Use your online network. Having mutual connections is really helpful to build rapport with the interviewer and also provides trusted references. If you are know who the Hiring Manager is connect with them to bridge your networks. 2. Focus on achievements not activity. Instead of focusing on the tasks you have done in the past, list accomplishments and deliverables. I agree on streamlined resumes, a great way to do that is to add hyperlinks to previous employers, academic institutions and clubs or groups. Confidence=perceive competence which is so important #gethired
