Pathology Awareness Australia
Pathology Awareness Australia Limited (PAA) is a not-for-profit group representing approximately 95% of the Australian pathology landscape. Our board has representation from the following pathology related groups:
Our mission
PAA was formed in 2013 in response to the discrepancy between the publicly perceived low value of pathology and the actual very high value of pathology to healthcare.
The founding members saw the need to jointly promote pathology as a vital and highly skilled medical profession, to the benefit of all those working in the field as well as all Australian patients reliant on access to high quality pathology services.
We believe this is the first time in the world that such diverse interests have united to promote the profession in this way.
What we do
Know Pathology Know Healthcare is the key output of PAA. The purpose of Know Pathology Know Healthcare and all resources on this website is to help the Australian public improve their own health literacy and to inform them about what pathology is and the important role it plays in their healthcare.
PAA is not a service provider and this website does not contain results. All queries about personal tests should be directed to your treating medical doctor or your pathology provider.
